Suscessfull HE Replacement In AustraliaEltek Australia has completed Stage One of a very successful AEON Upgrade project for a large data centre in Sydney. |

The Eltek Aeon Power systems to be replaced/upgraded were initially installed about ten years ago and consists of A and B systems; each with 96kW output at 48V.
"So far we have converted and upgraded the B system to HE rectifiers (70 in total) and a Smartpack2 control unit with two I/O modules to provide us with 12 alarm output relays. The work progressed smoothly, with the total replacement completed during one night", says Neil Ewen, Managing Director of Eltek Australia. "The customer was very pleased with the outcome of the upgrade and have been eager to continue with stage two of the project. Just after two weeks from the completion of the upgrade they had reported a considerable decrease in the cooling demand of the room – we are really looking forward to their reaction when the remaining rectifiers are replaced!" Stage two we will cover an upgrade of system A which includes an inverter rack, and also adding an extra string of batteries. New load cables will be installed throughout the data centre. The customer also wants to increase the float voltage by adding an extra battery into each battery string to compensate for the voltage drop across the data centre. This way they will save over $80K AUD on the cost of the new cabling. |
