The person should look into the camera, while the persons torso may have another angle. The Background should be a simple texture, like a wall etc . or blurred and out of focus.
Composition: Make sure there is enough space to the right or to the left in the picture. This area will be used for text, so it is very important that this area is not to busy with to many distractions or details. Colours: Keep a minimum of colours. The background should be close to neutral, while the person may have some more colour. You may have some colour in the background if the person also have elements of the same colour. Keep in mind that the front page contains variations of green. Therefore you might want to avoid green clothes on the person. With a green outfit the client will look more like a employee than a client. Location: It is preferable to do the shoot outside in daylight but not in direct sunlight. A good location may be a place where there is architectural structures in the background. But remember to keep it clean so that it does not interfere with the typography. Size: The image size is 637 pxl x 226 pxl, 72 dpi. It means that the original picture will have to be cropped or manipulated. Typography template: Once the image is ready you will have to import it to the typography template. This template is a simple PSD file containing three layers. One layer for the image, and four layer for the typography. |
